Choirs

Keeping with the Ignatian tradition of being people for others, our ministries are an opportunity to put our faith into action while building community. We invite you to discern how to share your gifts with others!

We have two very vibrant choirs at St. Ignatius and everyone is welcome.

Each consists of varying vocal abilities and experience, but we all share in our love of singing as an expression of our faith. We're a volunteer group, with no auditions. Reading music is not a prerequisite, as many choir members learn through their experience with us.

The Children/Youth Choir sings every second sunday at our 9:30am Family Mass. Its a very welcoming and encouring group. We aim to be flexible and inviting to budding and experienced singers.

The second chior includes men and women of all ages. sings every Sunday at the 11 a.m. Mass from September to May, and on major Feast Days (Midnight Mass, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Vigil). Practices are every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the choir loft of the church. We ask that members commit to attending at least 75% of choir practices.

All ranges of voices are welcome: sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses. We sing a variety of music ranging from classical to spirituals, mostly in four-part harmony.

We welcome you to join our choirs. Feel free to attend a rehearsal and meet our groups, or contact the directors for more information.
