Youth Ministry

Discover the important work being done through our Ministries. These groups are a great way to get involved in our Parish community.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create a space for families and youth to come together and experience the love and belonging offered by Christ our Lord. Our goal is to aid families and youth to become all that God intends them to be; to know the goodness and kindness of God, and to make known His Goodness and His Kindness to others.

God is in all circumstances, and our mission is to join Him in transforming our world. We do this by listening to the Holy spirit, who is always guiding his Church and has a unique purpose for youth today.

Family Program

Our Family Program emphasizes involvement and belonging, while offering activities that are safe and fun for all. Young adults are encouraged to take part and lead our events.

Youth Program

St. Ignatius provides a place to be yourself while growing and serving others. Our Youth Program offers opportunities to explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus and what it means to be fully alive. Activities are designed to help us connect to ourselves and others in safe and healthy ways, experience the power of God, and help fulfill responsible leadership volunteer roles and service. Together, we explore ways to make a difference in the world. We also enjoy games and have fun at celebrations, conferences and Vacation Bible Camp.

Youth Programs offered

St. Ignatius programs work to foster spirituality, meaning and a sense of belonging, while reflecting the interests of our youth. Our goal is to develop a safe, encouraging environment for our young people — a place they feel supported, loved, and comfortable to unplug and be themselves without fear of social pressure. These programs are updated regularly, so please check our Facebook page for up and coming events.

Vacation Bible School

Our Annual Vacation Bible School is offered every July for children ages 4 — 12. Through singing, arts, crafts, sports, and food programs, children are taught biblical stories and principles. Together, children learn to interact and think in groups with direction from a variety of leaders.

The Thinkfast program supports Development and Peace efforts to raise funds for third-world micro programs. Attendees are required to raise funds to support their efforts. Traditionally held during lent, this 25-hour fast teaches children and teens the value of fasting as a way to solidify with those who struggle to meet basic daily needs, learn more about themselves through self-denial, and deepen their hunger for God.

Family Gardening

Enjoy the rewards of gardening — healthy food, fresh air and therapeutic qualities. We purchased a garden allotment at Margaret Grant Pool, 685 Dalhousie Dr., for the 2017 summer gardening season. St. Ignatius youth and their families are invited to enjoy this plot. Develop gardening skills that will last a lifetime. Sharing your crop with others is also encouraged. Contact Lynne for more information.
